Craig Whittaker MP writes: 'I have organised an open public meeting with the Environment Agency which is due to take place on Saturday 16th April, 10:00-12:00, at Calder High School (Ted Hughes Auditorium). The purpose of the meeting will be to provide the Environment Agency with an opportunity to update residents on their flood prevention work along the whole of the River Calder as more information will be available by the time of this meeting. The meeting will also provide local residents and businesses with an ‘open forum’ whereby they can ask questions to both myself, and Environment Agency officers, and will conclude with a ‘breakout’ group session where residents will be able to provide feedback and comment on the plans of the Environment Agency.
I will organise further meetings with the Environment Agency in the run-up to the publication of the full flood prevention model in the autumn.'
